It’s simple to use the Philips HeartStart AED:
If you suspect that someone is in sudden cardiac arrest–if the person is not breathing normally and cannot be awakened–call 911 first.
Then put the Philips HeartStart Defibrillator to work. Follow three simple steps and the HeartStart Defibrillator is ready to act and ready to go.
Step 1: Pull the cartridge handle, marked “PULL” in large letters. This initiates the clear voice that will guide you through the process.
Step 2: Place the pads on the victim’s bare chest. The voice instructions tell you exactly what to do. Simply follow the instructions.
Step 3: Press the flashing orange “Shock” button if HeartStart decides a shock is needed.
